Florissant Grange #420
Grange #420 is a rural Grange. We operate out of a Historical School House purchased by our
Grange in 1984 after leasing it since the early ‘60’s.
Everyone is welcome at the Florissant Grange. Your membership is not
required to attend our events, but we welcome you to become a member.

Thank you ED!!!!! Renee is still working hard as the
event coordinator and as always still needs volunteers to help all the events run smoothly. Please volunteer. You can
find Renee Monday’s and most Wednesday’s at the Grange in the Colorado State Grange Office (the old Coal
House behind the Old School House) if you should need her and she checks the voice mail wherever she is
there. (She is there more often than that, but those are the set days she is there)

July 30, 2016
July 30 is the community wide Heritage Day event. At
the Grange we will have crafters and vendors (reserve your spot right away). We will have music on the
outdoor bandstand and Doc Suzie will be on the stage inside. Plenty of fun for the kids with crafts, barrel
train rides, treasure hunts and a special silent auction. We will also have the grills fired up for
burgers, brats and dogs at lunch, an Ice Cream booth and cotton candy booth too! We can use some volunteers
for this event as well, so come join us and help us out for a fun day at the
Heritage day is community wide, so start the day with
Breakfast at the Fire Department, enjoy all the fun at the Grange and visit the Pikes Peak Historical
Society Museum (the best Museum around); the Fossil Beds National Monument; The Florissant Cemetery; the
Florissant Library and more.
OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS:
Quilting Class at the Florissant Grange. Join us and make a beautiful Fence Rail Quilt. This is a very stunning but simple quilt. A series of classes will start Saturday July 16 from 9 to noon and
continue every other Saturday or available Saturdays until our quit tops are finished. We will start from the beginning and classes will conclude when everyone
has a completed quilt top. You will need fabric and thread and a machine if you have one. The Grange has 4 machines and machines can be shared. Continuing classes
of lay out and hand quilting will be discussed when the quilt top classes conclude. This class is $10 each Saturday and is by reservation only. Call 719-748-5004 for more information, or to reserve your spot in the
Kids Kraft Korner at the
Florissant Grange. Bring the young ones for an hour (or two) of
fun kids crafts. Several stations available with crafts such as: Bird Feeders; Glow in the Dark crafts;
painting and more. This class is by reservation only on July 16
from 1 to 2:30 and cost $10 per child. For more information or
to make your reservation call 748-5004.
Pine Needle Basket making

are now offered at the Florissant Grange by reservation only.
Call 748-5004 to make your appointment to learn to make these beautiful Pine Needle Baskets. Groups are limited to 10 people. The cost of the classes is $10 per person. Dates will be determined when you call for your reservation.
LET”S PAINT!!! Gather your friends for an afternoon of fun and painting at the Florissant
Grange. Painting classes are by reservation only and can have
from 3 to 10 people. Supplies, snacks and drinks (sorry nothing
alcoholic) and instructor are provided. Cost of the class is
$30 per person. Call for more information and make your

Our annual Chili Cookoff / Pie Auction was held on
30 April and although the crowd was smaller, due to weather, the event was very successful as a fund raiser.
A big “Thank You” to all who participated.
Yoga classes have sadly ended at the Grange. We miss having the classes and we miss Debbie Winking. If you know of anyone who would like to teach Yoga, please let us

Old School House, Grange Hall.
Please note... We have the funds for the new roof, but the project has
been put on hold until some insurance issues are ironed out. Our next project is to refinish the

FNRA meets the first Tuesday of the month.
AA meets each Wednesday at 12:00.

We receive many
questions about the Florissant Grange Organization and the answer to most of these questions,
are: The Grange Organization is a Fraternal Organization that
is centered on Community Service.

We are open to everyone and invite everyone to join us at all our activities and meetings. We love to gain new members and encourage everyone to join. You do not have to be a member to come to our events or to come to our
meetings. If you are curious about us – come see what we are
all about. We have a very corny motto, but it is true to its
word... “You are never a stranger if you are a Granger.” Join
